2022 – Sun City
After repeated cancellations because of Covid, we eventually made it to Sun City. We played Lost City twice and Gary Player twice.
The competition was incredibly close, with the Hackers holding on for a win; 9.5 points to 8.5 points over the Gophers.

2021 – Langebaan
Advanced plans to tour at Sun City had to abandoned at a late stage (again) because of Covid, and another shortened tour to Langebaan was scheduled.
In a repeat of 2020, two games were played at Langebaan Country Club. With honours drawn on the first day at 1½ points each, a lot was riding on day 2. The Gophers showed their strength and won the day 4½ to 1½.
2020 – Langebaan
A planned tour to the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Once we were able to travel again, a shortened 2-day tour to Langebaan was scheduled. We played the Langebaan Country Club twice in windy conditions.
The Hackers took a 2.5 to 0.5 lead on the first day and this proved to be unsurmountable for the Gophers, despite them winning 3.5 – 2.5 on the second day.

2019 – Knysna
A return to Knysna in 2019 heralded triumph for the Gophers as they triumphed in a shortened competition. Rounds were completed at Knysna, Simola and Goose Valley, but a game at Pezula had to be abandoned when the course was closed due to torrential rain.

2018 – Hermanus
2018 saw a return to Hermanus and the addition of the challenging 9-hole course in Gansbaai – where a lot of balls were lost. The other courses played were Kleinmond, Arabella and holes 10 to 27 at Hermanus. The new Handicap Index system (which had only been in place for a few weeks at this time) resulted in some confusion about the handicaps, but it was cleared up relatively quickly. On his first tour, Jason captained the Hackers and led them to victory.

2013 – Hermanus
In 2013 the Gophers, under the leadership of Justin, secured their first outright victory in five attempts. We played Hermanus Golf Club twice, Arabella Golf Estate and Kleinmond Golf Club. A really good trip with some fantastic courses.

2012 – Sun City
In 2012 we had a fantastic opportunity to play a course that we’ve all grown up watching on television, the Gary Player Country Club at Sun City. We were fortunate enough to base ourselves at Sun City and also played Pecanwood Golf Course on the way to Sun City. Whilst there we also played the Lost City Golf Course. Although the tour only consisted of three rounds, we still played out our own version of the Ryder Cup. For the first time the event was a tie between the Hackers and the Gophers. Another first was for the two captains, Andrew and Deon H, to pick their players on the evening prior to the golf round which added an extra element of fun and competition.

2011 – Durban
By 2011, our Tour Group had grown to 14 members. We travelled to Durban where we played Durban Country Club, Mount Edgecombe, Beachwood and Umhlali Golf Club. Once again, the team event was dominated by the Hackers. We also had our first Ghost tour hole-in-one with Deon achieving this at the 18th at Beachwood.

2010 – Johannesburg
The third Ghost Golf Tour was moved to August because of the Football World Cup. We played Royal Johannesburg East Course, Reading Golf Club, Ebotse Golf Club and Glendower Golf Club. The Hackers proved far too strong and the team event was settled after the first three days. The final day was highlighted by a three-way tie for the individual player of the tour.

2009 – Garden Route
The second tour again headed along the Garden Route and had 8 members. The team event was introduced and won by Hackers, competently led by Hector Mc Beth. Courses played were Pezula Golf Club, Goose Valley Golf Club, George Country Club. A fourth game was scheduled at Kingswood Estate but it was called off due to inclement weather.

2008 – Knsyna
The inaugural Ghost Tour took place in Knysna in September 2008, with 7 members. Due to the uneven numbers the team element was done away with and an individual tournament was arranged. Courses played were Pezula Golf Club, Knysna Golf Course, Bramble Hill and Plettenberg Bay.
